Kent State Shooting (GPS 41.150092, -81.343353) Then and Now....Mary Ann Vecchio, seen screaming over the body of Jeffrey Miller (where a memorial is now), was only 14 years old. The runaway became the emblem of Kent State in John Filo's Pulitzer winning photo. National Guard shot 69 rounds in 13 seconds indiscriminately from a distance at unarmed students, killing 4 students, wounding 9 (paralyzing one). 2 of the dead were just walking to class. To date, there has been no explanation why other than the 29 of 77 guys holding guns were afraid and fired at people without guns. I wonder if that is the stat for what percentage would shoot when afraid at unarmed Americans. Students were protesting President Richard Nixon's Cambodia Campaign and Vietnam War and others were just walking to class. America has consistently been at war with countries few Americans understand even at a superficial level.
