Even when on a family vacation to Yosemite, I still find space to be on my own and get lost in my thoughts, especially when we hike as a family. It's easier of course now that my kids are a little older to let them walk and climb on their own, but I find that even when we are together, we tend to fall silent often. It's the hold the beauty of this place has on you. You want to do nothing more but be silent in it and take it in. It's the most rewarding of family travels.
