One of the most common images of Fiji are those of their bures. A "bure" is a Fijian word for wooden and straw hut, or cabin and they are not always on the water. But one of the options when staying in Savusavu's Koro Sun resort is that you get to stay in one of the water bures and I absolutely loved it. The cabin is small, but has all the amenities one person to a couple with need, including running water/shower and flushing toilets. I loved the small deck connected to it that floats on the water, with its lounge chairs and hammock, my spot for sunrise watching. At night I felt a slide rocking from the movement of the water and it helped me to sleep as sound as a happy baby.
The resort offers larger rooms of different styles that are perfect for larger groups, including families, as well as for honeymooners, all with ocean views.
