After several days of hiking my way in and around Steamboat mountain, I came to realize that what makes the hike really special is how you choose to finish it. Sometimes, that meant heading over to the bar and having a cold drink to celebrate a successful hike. Other times, that meant taking off my shoes and dipping my feet in the icing waters at the foot of a waterfall.
This last bit happened after a short hike along Fish Creek Falls. Not too bad, except the day was hot and the water felt really refreshing.
If you want to challenge yourself even more, take on the 5-mile hike along the creek and you'll come up on a larger pool of ice cold water that you can swim in.
