Communication skills are an important attribute of a student leader. You need to be able to make yourself understood and to be someone others can talk to. Promoting open communication within a group allows for idea-sharing and cooperative problem solving. In disagreements, communication skills come in handy when trying to sort out the opposing sides and come to an agreement. It is also important that a student leader have the ability to communicate instructions in such a way that they are easily understood and completed.
