Beekeeping in Cappadocia

Paşabağ, or Monks Valley, in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey is best known for its otherworldly landscape featuring amazing rock formations. But the region also contains a winery and numerous apricot trees, and nature dictates that if you want a fruitful harvest, those vines and trees need to be pollinated. And when you're talking about pollination, you need bees. So throughout the region, you'll see any number of Langstroth hives placed by enterprising beekeepers (who then sell honey at the weekly markets).
