Oldest surviving Jack-o'lantern

It's thought that modern Jack-o'lanterns originated in Ireland and the Scottish highlands, where they carved turnip lanterns as part of Samhain celebrations.

This scary looking fellow is from the early 19th century, and is part of the collection at Ireland's Museum of Country Life.
