The trail's origin, and the end of the road

If you decide to hike the mighty Kalalau Trail, on Kauai's northwest corner, you'll start from the end of the road, literally. From here on out, a car can no longer go forward as there is no more road.

Foot is your primary means (though there is of course boat, kayak and helicopter), and as you begin the hike and the first climb, you'll be greeted with a lovely view of your origin — Ke'e Beach below.
