The Seljavallalaug pool seems to be fast becoming one of Iceland's best known hot springs, not least because of how photogenic it is (just search for it on Instagram). The little white changing room and sliver of blue water tucked up at the side of the valley makes for quite the picture.
When we went to the pool during our recent trip to Iceland, a couple of people were in the changing rooms so we just got into our swimming kit behind the white hut instead. And just before we got in for a swim I walked a few steps up the hillside and took this picture looking back down the valley, to get a different view of the pool. The hot water pours in from a pretty basic pipe down at the far end, and you can jump in off that white wall if you fancy it.
From any angle, this is definitely a highlight of any visit to Iceland.
