It is always difficult coming back from a long or far away or intense trip and trying to explain it to people. Fortunately, my very closest counterparts understand that these types of experiences are best told anecdotally and in time.
It is still important to share a slice, though, and as such I got on the horn with my best friend. "So, it's kind of hard to explain," I told her. Five minutes later I got off the phone and sent her this photograph that I took in the South Shetlands in Antarctica.
How could you describe this place other than totally surreal? In fact I don't even know that I was actually in Antarctica because I think I may have dreamed it!
