Crococun Zoo

One of my favorite excursions in Mexico was our family's visit to Crococun Zoo, a former crocodile breeding facility that opened to the public. There are all sorts of local animals that a knowledgeable guide often offers for hands-on inspection. Turtles, parrots, snakes, coatimundis, iguanas, and endangered Mayan hairless dogs.

This crocodile is only 4 years old, still a baby, but when it was my turn to hold him and he thrashed I almost dropped him, he was so strong!

Wild spider monkeys followed us in the trees, waiting for the end when food was put into baskets for them. Once they were fed by hand but became too aggressive looking for food on people and had to be kept further away. Just south of Cancun in Puerto Morelos, this is an excellent place for children and adults to visit and learn. #Mexico #skimbaco dreamy place to visit
